Architect - Concept Design
Something like 1 in 5 Architects actually get to work on RIBA Stages 2 or 3 on a regular basis. I would guess than most Architects did their Degree, Masters and Diploma because they consider themselves creative and want nothing more than to spend a career actually designing new buildings.
Often this work will be undertaken by Associates and Directors, Senior Management who were there for the Briefs and know the client. This is why it's rare that you'll get the chance to shake the dust off your drawing pens.
How about you make this your full time job? What if the main focus of your job as a Project level Architect was to focus on the Concept and Developed Design? You'll get to attend the Briefs and spend time understand your clients needs, but what you really manage is the drawing and development work on every project.
You'll get to work on Housing, Healthcare, Education and Commercial Projects. There are 10 in the studio team and they're growing fast. You will be supported by a range of Technical and delivery based individuals throughout every project.
The practice is very BIM focussed so your projects will often be delivered to BIM Level 2. You'll get to have a hand in the delivery but for the most part you'll be heading up the front end abilities of the organisation.
