Architectural technician/designer invited to join a leading privately owned developer and work directly alongside the Design Director in the production and coordination of design, planning and technical information for start on site. Taking schemes forward from sketch feasibility you will have exposure to the full development life cycle.
Leading privately owned developer with a reputation for quality of house type deign from both an aesthetic and technical detail perspective, and build. Having grown from HQ to just over 600 units per annum, they are now opening a new region in the increasingly active South Midlands to be based in Northamptonshire. Sites will be a range of sizes, varying from 40 units up to 250, with the occasional consortium site.
Working directly alongside the Design Director, you be involved in all stages taking schemes forward from sketch feasibility through further design, planning, building control and job running once on site. Typical duties can include:
- site masterplanning and layout design;
- attending planning meetings with all stakeholders and local authorities;
- procurement and production of all ancillary information for planning including Design and Access statements;
- Full working drawing packs using Building Regulations;
- Discharging of NHBCs
- Answer queries from site
You will be familiar with house building with direct experience (past or present) working within a design/technical department for a residential developer. A good use of AutoCAD is essential, as is an open mind and willingness to be fully involved in all stages and a curiosity and appreciation to exploring new ideas, both direct for the role and strategically to aid in working methods for the team and new region.
