Following the Government’s go ahead on HS2 we are now recruiting a Lead Specification & Assurance Manager to lead the group which sets requirements and assurance criteria for the scope for the proposed High Speed Rail network and associated works.

As the Lead Specification & Assurance Manager, you will lead the evaluation and control of change to requirements and achieve support and agreement for the scope and policies within HS2 ltd, stakeholders and third parties.

In this key role, you will develop the requirements necessary to comply with external regulations and standards, taking account of best practice. Where appropriate, you will propose challenges to standards and check that appropriate controls are in place to manage agreed non-compliances. You will also take the lead in the relationship with stakeholders and third parties in agreeing their technical requirements and acceptance activity.

For this key role, we seek applications from Chartered Engineers (or those with a comparable operational qualification) with demonstrable experience in client management of major projects and working with sponsors, regulatory bodies and other major stakeholders. Experience in the creation, development and validation of major schemes scope descriptions, requirements breakdown structures and supporting cost estimates and plans, in addition to experience in requirements control and assurance is essential. Your knowledge of Qualitative Schedule Risk Assessment, as well as knowledge of Network Rail and the rail industry will also be advantageous.
