At SSA we have operating recruitment units in UK, Dubai, Australia and in Ireland. We are seeking to develop a working base in the canadian market. The business in Canada is in the early stages of development. We anticipate opening the office there in late 2012 early 2013. We can be flexible on location of the office in Canada. We are seeking a Recruitment Manager with ability to assist develping the business here. Target Market - energy, construction, civils, consultancy.

The business will grow from a small team of 2 to 3 and will become what the performance of this team allows it to become. The leaders of the busines will have the freedom to help grow and shape a business and not forgetting you will be able to benefit from the rewards of same.

We will look for a career in Construction, Civils, Consultancy and Project Management, Energy / Alternative Energy or Oil and Gas (similar sectors as relevant). That said if you bring to us opportunity in a relevant field we are keen to consider same.

The Recruitment Manager role is an exceptional opportunity. A stake in the local business is available. We can develop the business initially in the UK and migrate the staff to Canada post an initial period or start trading there post a brief period of introduction.

My name is Mark Skinner. I run an ethical, professional and dedicated recruitment business that has grown from a core strength of working in the UK Construction Market. After 5 years in business for myself when the global downturn kicked in late 2008 I was left with the difficult challenge of restructuring a business with 3 offices in the UK and 25 staff focusing on this core “Construction Market”. Up to this point I had engineered the business to be in the top 3% of all SME’s in terms of profitability (Gross Margin of the business was for 4 years never less than 75%). I have utilised the “grave” economic conditions in the UK to my advantage. I decided early into 2008 that I would reign in the UK business and further develop and enhance trade overseas. I downsized from 3 offices in the UK to 1 and migrated core staff that worked for me into new regions. I have always believed that if you are going to forge relationships with clients you have to be on their turf to be able to meet and develop these ties.
 
Through 2009-2011 I have established SSA in Dubai (UAE) and in Sydney (Australia). I am currently in the process of establishing a Canadian Branch of the business which will open in late 2012. Despite the fact the profitability is not as high in the years prior to 2008 I feel most humble and proud that all the core staff that went into the downturn with me are still together and beyond this we have grown without doubt in strength. We currently employ more staff than we did prior to the downturn and the strength of the team is exceptional. Without doubt we have the best years ahead of us.
 
I place much emphasis on loyalty, respect and honour. I come across too many characters in Recruitment that I cannot associate with. I am fortunate that I am a self made man who has learnt many lessons in life. I have enough material wealth behind me to have a genuine and pragmatic view about the future growth of SSA and the terms on which we will grow.
 
The future of SSA is only as good as the people that I can encourage to work for me. What you should know is that SSA is independent and strong. SSA is privately owned by myself and indeed by those who work for me. All core staff are offered the opportunity to earn a potential significant stake in each business unit (20% shares are available in each “silo” for management). SSA is strong – we have no debt – we only trade of a profit position at the bank in each region and we have no overdraft facilities or no intention of getting hamstrung by a financial institution you can’t control. We do it our way. Its also important to note there is no waste, no “stato’s”, managers who deem that management is a process of KPI and driving production in a non effective way by monitoring calls etc etc. Core Managers in Recruitment should lead by example in terms of ability and billing. All Managers are billing managers that encourage performance, enhance performance, lead by example and reward and generate the loyalty of those who respect what they do.
 
The simple facts are we do it differently. We see it differently.
