We are seeking highly experienced professionals who are recognised as experts both within their field and within the development sector. Both the Chair and Panel Members will be paid for their time. It is anticipated that the Islington Design Panel (IDP) will comprise of between 30 to 40 members taken from recognised experts in the field of the built environment and design. It will comprise mainly of architects and urban designers complemented by other fields.
As the quality of advice given by the panel is dependant upon the calibre of members, our aspiration is to attract members of the greatest expertise in their respective fields. A critical design ability is important, therefore field experts as well as academic and professionals across teaching in the built environment field will be valuable on the panel. Applications for Members will be taken both locally and from outside the borough.
We require members to be creative solution oriented professionals who can work collaboratively to resolve problems and improve design. Panel members will be objective and their role is purely advisory. Comments from the Panel will be fed into the assessment of pre-applications, applications and appeals.
Membership of the panel will be limited to a period of two years. Members will be able to reapply but there is strong presumption that membership will change. Recruitment will be advertised within appropriate publications.
