
My Hertfordshire based client who are a market leader in construction have an exciting opportunity to join their team as a cad technician. You as the sucessful candidate will produce high quality technical drawings and schedules from engineers' and planners' sketches, within the Civil Engineering and Building disciplines.To maintain registers and schedules relating to technical drawings.
Some of your main responsibilities will be to Carry out the duties of Designer within the CDM regulations.Comply with procedures relating to HSE, including the procedure for the Control of Temporary Works. Maintain a pro-active attitude to HSE.Ensure that residual risks are clearly communicated on drawings. High level of ability in using AutoCAD, version 2010 or later, including the use of blocks, underlays, XREFs and layer and linetype conventions. The ability to use AutoCAD add-ons e.g. Autotrack. An appreciation of BIM. Use of standard office software to e.g. manage drawing registers, produce schedules and transfer data to/from drawings. Use of project extranets for receipt and delivery of data, Familiarity with civil engineering materials and techniques, including structural steelwork and reinforced concrete. Maintain drawing registers and follow department administrative procedures. A high standard of ethical behaviour. Willingness to contribute to innovative solutions. Production of tidy, structured and accurate drawings of civil engineering and building structures and layouts. Appreciation of British Standards relating to drawing and information sharing. Produce work to the expected standard in accordance with provided information, Ability to understand and interpret engineers' sketches, Accurate technical written English. Clear oral communication with colleagues and clients. Willingness to develop skills in structural detailing and Building Information Modelling.Deal with all situations in a calm professional manner. You will have 1 to 3 years experience and have references to support this within cad design.
