Guided by the tenets of conservation best practice, our input will range from strategic advice on statutory requirements to meticulous analysis of historic materials and finishes. Our expertise, practical approach and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, from international bodies to local groups, equips us to work on projects that range from development of the Grade 1-listed King’s Cross Station to the careful dismantling and transplanting of a historic house in the Arabian Gulf.

 

Working with a variety of designers, we create strikingly innovative architecture, ensuring vibrant and sustainable continuity for our historic inheritance.

This is a rare opportunity to join our successful practice at a senior level, to drive the strategy for Heritage and Adaptive re-use practice wide.

The successful candidate will expect to develop their career through actively contributing to JMP’s international award-winning portfolio with diverse and challenging projects working alongside several of the UK’s leading experts. Offering expert advice to clients relating to heritage assets (including listed buildings and conservation areas), refurbishment and adaptive re-use of historic buildings and sites, and new developments in historic environments. There will be opportunities to develop new business relationships and to undertake new and challenging heritage opportunities worldwide.  The candidate will lead a team involved in;

The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced architect with excellent design skills with responsibility for project leadership, business development, client relations and staff development. They should have a strong understanding of sustainability and have an interest in JMP's practice initiatives ethos. 

Ideally already a practice leader in a historic environment you will have a credible industry profile and an in-depth understanding and passion for historic buildings and able to demonstrate direct and personal experience at the successful adaptive re-use of a variety of heritage buildings with demonstrable evidence of a practical engagement of all aspects of heritage and conservation construction and detailing.

Candidates should have recognised industry qualifications in architecture and conservation practice and have a proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and CAD (Microstation preferred). Proof of eligibility to work in the UK (without restriction) is required.
