Planning Officer (GIS-based)
Due to recent increase in workload an opportunity has arisen within the Planning Policy team for a planner/planning technician with good knowledge of Geographical Information Systems, data collection and mapping. Our client is a local authority based in North London. With a good chance of an extension after the initial 3-month period, this could be the ideal job for you.
As a successful candidate, you will be required to:
Use their GIS skills to support the preparation of Policies Map and evidence base.
Convert survey data into GIS datasets to produce maps for presentation purposes.
Assist the Planning Policy Team in the preparation of the Council's Local Plan.
To undertake other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature and of a similar responsibility to those described above, which may be allocated from time to time.
As the successful applicant you will need knowledge and experience of data collection and surveying.
You must possess a competent level of IT skills (Microsoft Office).
Must have experience of using Geographical Information Systems and knowledge of the use of complex databases and spreadsheet.
Good customer care skills, ability to meet deadlines, and team working are also essential.
