Town Planning Officer
Due to recent restructures and an increased work load an opportunity has arisen within the Development Management team to look after both minor and major planning applications. Our clients, based in the Central London are looking to recruit an additional Planning Officer on a contractual basis. Based very close to both train and bus stations, making this a very accessible location. With a good chance of an extension after the initial 3-month period, this could be the ideal job for you.
Processing and formulating recommendations on applications for planning permission and other types of applications submitted under the Town and Country Planning Acts and/or associated Orders and Regulations having regard to statutory and Council procedures, the development plan, non statutory policies and other material planning considerations.
Advising on the planning aspects of enforcement cases.
Providing advice to the public, amenity societies, developers, agents, Councillors and public authorities on development proposals and related matters.
Preparing reports and presenting planning applications at Planning Committees.
Preparing and presenting professional planning evidence at appeals, local inquiries, hearings and written representations.
As the successful applicant you will need the ability to manage a variety of general applications and enquires.
You must possess a competent level of IT skills (Microsoft Office)
You must be professionally qualified (RTPI recognised) and have town planning experience- particularly in an urban environment.
Good customer care skills, ability to meet deadlines, and team working are also essential.
