£30,000

International property & construction firm requires an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their hugely successful MEP Cost Management team in London.

Responsibilities include;

Undertaking the preparation of simple cost plans and estimates and contribute to the development of more complex pieces of work under supervision;
Contributing to the preparation of tender documentation for MEP packages;
Commercial management of work packages post contract including change control and valuation, progress valuations and final accounts;
Conducting tender analysis for the purpose of contractor appointments and data capture for benchmarking and future cost plans;
Assisting in the evaluation of tenders and assembly of construction contract documentation;
Represent the business at project progress meetings and other meetings as required;
Undertaking cost research and data evaluation for the engineering aspects of research projects that the business and MEP team is delivering;
Contribute to the production of client cost reports;
Ad hoc duties associated with wider project remits

Essential;

2.1 RICS accredited Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent;
A flexible individual, capable of working as part of a small, co-located team, able to adapt to different work practices and demonstrate to an appreciation of the wider implications of their client’s projects;
Prior experience in the quantification and valuation of building engineering services;
Ability to self start and work with focus, minimal supervision and enthusiasm;
Excellent client facing and interpersonal skills;
An ability to think clearly and make reasoned decisions, explaining the logic employed;
Effective listener and who can identify issues, clearly communicating solutions and recommendations;
Good time management and prioritisation skills – delivers quality work within immovable deadlines;
Ability to anticipate potential future issues, identifying potential solutions necessary for mitigation;
Excellent IT skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel & other bespoke)


Desirable;

An awareness and understanding of cost planning is desirable but not essential, however a desire to learn and develop this skill is vital
