The BIM Coordinator role is to ensure the highest possible levels of BIM implementation. The BIM Coordinator will be a role central to projects to comply with these requirements.

The role would initially entail working with Designers in the design office and then on site during construction over a total period of 4-5 years. In summary, a highly rewarding role that places the successful candidate at the centre of this prestigious infrastructure project and at the forefront of BIM implementation.


  • Candidates must have worked on projects with BIM standards in accordance with BS1192 or know how to apply BS1192.
  • Independent thinker - creativity from within, giving the project team confidence in the use of BIM.
  • Have an understanding of design and its application in estimating, planning and construction management.

  • Focus on quality and understands and maintains quality levels within BIM data and processes.

  • The candidate will be responsible for design team compliance with the Project BIM Standards.
  • Managing/delivering the appropriate visuals to team members to support their work.
  • Creating and capturing evidence of BIM values which influence the commercial outcomes on the project. Extract data from the model to contribute directly to support monthly reporting.
  • Interrogation of the design input of the model to identify clashes and produce and manage a clash register.
  • Oversee the extraction of key data from the project model to produce scheduled material quantities.
  • Support the IFE effort through the model functionality to support safety initiatives on the project.
  • Interface with and support the procurement team to package work scopes for inquiry.
  • Interface with the Project Planner and the Primavera P6 package to create virtual build of the 3D model.
  • Connect BIM to the on site activities through the site management team.
  • Optimise the site logistics through the model when planning temporary works, haul routes, site accesses, site welfare and storage locations.
  • Build a data set during the design and construction that reflects the needs of the Clients Asset Manager.
  • Promote BIM to optimise the projects sustainability credentials
  • Liaise with the Project Document Controller to ensure that the right people get the right information at the right time.
  • Produce an audit procedure and schedule to ensure the model complies with standards.
  • Provide key data from the model that supports the LCC process
IT Skills:

  • Autodesk Navisworks Manage and Timeliner
  • Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Revit
  • Synchro 4D
  • Vela and/or Artra
  • A general awareness of other BIM software applications would be advantageous.
