Our client is an international, design studio working on the design of a new and prestigious airport and are wanting to hire a mid-senior level technician with recent experience of working on the delivery of construction packages within an airport. The work can be varied within this description, so the more experience that applicants have within this field, the better; more duties are listed below.
This is a contract position that may very well run on and become a long-term commission - the studio is busy and new staff who can demonstrate a flair and consistency for technical production will be needed on forthcoming new work too.
-To assist with the production of drawing packages in the early stage of design
-Converting designers sketch drawings into scaled and measured CAD drawings to see that the design works .
-Liaison with our external consultant drawing teams to co-ordinate the compilation of drawing packages to our company standards and protocols
-Produce technical drawing information for the design team.
-Understand the design and delivery of the project.
-Take part in the co-ordination of the internal design team
-Liaise with external design teams , consultants and companies; carry out coordination of information and correctly relay to external parties.
-CAD technical output in all areas of the project
Qualities & skills required.
-To possess good interpersonal skills to liaise with external parties and colleagues in understanding all issues concerned with the project.
-To work with architects, Interior designers and technicians in producing technical details that meet the requirements of a project.
-Be aware of the building regulations and technical specifications that are integral to the development of each particular sector of the project. (Understanding of American Standards useful)
-Ability to take initiative to solve technical issues
-Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
-Commitment to lifelong learning and a flexible approach to work in response to the needs of the team and the client.
-Ability to use some of the following: Autocad (essential) or MicroStation, PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
