Senior Architect - Education - Central London - £50k +

Our Client a leading architecture, design, planning, and strategic consulting firm that partners with companies to achieve measurable business and organizational goals through its design has a position available for a Senior Architect to join their London studio.

A passion for mentoring and teaching would also be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Discussing the objectives, requirements and budget of a project;

Consulting with other professionals about the design of an environment;

Preparing and presenting feasibility reports and design proposals to the client;

Advising the client on the practicality of their project;

Using IT in design and project management, specifically using computer-aided design software;

Implementation and monitoring of QA/QC processes is a plus.

Keeping within financial budgets and deadlines;

Producing detailed workings, drawings and specifications;

Specifying the nature and quality of materials required;

Preparing tender applications and presentations;

Negotiating with contractors and other professionals;

Preparing applications for planning and building control departments;

Preparing tender documents for contracts;

Qualities & skills required


Previous experience working in education sector

Have good, solid experience in the UK market

Ability to understand and formulate design decisions and present for discussion

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team

Ability to take initiative in response to direction or instruction

Ability to use some of the following: AutoCAD, Sketch up, Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint


Understanding of the architects role in the co-ordination and integration of project information and management

Ability to assist with the management of junior assistant architects on the team

Understanding of financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget

Good client links, active in field of education and culture
