Part II Architectural Assistant
At FCO Services, we protect information, assets and people for government-level customers all over the world. For our Architects, this means having opportunities to work on diverse and uniquely challenging building projects both in the UK and overseas.
Design buildings that our clients depend on
This is a key role within our Architectural & Interior Design team that involves working on small- and medium-sized construction and refurbishment projects from inception through design, tendering and on-site supervision all the way through to completion. The projects, which will typically be worth £250k-£5m, may often involve managing overseas-based construction consultants and you will occasionally have to deputise for a Senior Architect or Project Manager. You will have particularly strong involvement at the design stage, providing expert architectural input and preparing drawings and specifications in line with contract requirements.
Build technical and people management skills
As an RIBA part II-qualified architectural assistant with demonstrable stage I practical experience, you will already have a proven track record of providing architectural design services and of leading design and construction teams through project management processes. Experience of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD would be beneficial. You will also have gained real insight into the financial and resource aspects of the design process. Excellent people management skills are essential, as is the ability to build strong relationships and work closely with clients to gain a clear understanding of their goals. You must be willing to travel overseas, sometimes at short notice.
And take your career to the next level
Our customers, who include the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to security challenges that change constantly. This gives every job here added significance, and provides you with an ideal environment in which to hone your skills and expertise, especially as you’ll be working on uniquely interesting projects as part of our in-house multi-disciplinary teams.
We will provide you with training, mentoring to give you support for your progression to RIBA Part III professional examinations.
