Building Clerk of Works, Capital Work Projects, £20 - £25 per hour DOE, 6 months+ rolling contract

Your new company
For this job, a well-known national organisation seek an experienced Building Clerk of Works to oversee a number of capital works projects through various construction stages. The variety of projects this organisation is part of will provide a varied working day. Due to a peak in workload, they are looking to take on a freelance CoW on a temporary basis for at least 6 months.

Your new role
You'll ensure that installation and repair work on new build and refurbishment capital works projects are carried out to the highest of quality, complying with technical standards. You'll certify compliance of technical installations to authorise contractor payments. There is a requirement to undertake regular audits on active construction sites to ensure high standards of compliance with technical standards are being maintained. You will be responsible for the planning and implementation of systems to ensure accurate surveys are undertaken, results recorded and manipulated in support of the dedicated project software and national Property Management System. You will be required to make judgements, on a daily basis, on Estates & Property technical issues, design options whilst taking into account legislation, technical and health & safety standards

What you'll need to succeed
You'll be an experienced Building CoW with ICWCI or MCIOB accreditation. You'll have a proven track record acting as a technical specialist to internal and external stakeholders. Therefore, strong communication skills are essential. Ideally you'll have experience within the healthcare sector working in clean room environments. You'll be required to drive so DVLA licence is essential. You'll have up to date CDM and HSE knowledge and certification to ensure projects meet the standards required. This role would ideally suit a Building CoW who comes from an Architectural background as AutoCAD will be used to prepare and interpret technical drawings.

What you'll get in return
You'll be given a competitive hourly rate, full time hours and at least 6 months work although this has the potential to roll on. You'll be given a varied workload of both new build and refurbishment projects to work with.
