Associate Town Planner
We are seeking an ASSOCIATE TOWN PLANNER with 5 years or more experience to join our client in their City of London office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chartered town planner who is keen to move to a Director ASAP.
You will be Degree qualified and also must be MRTPI qualified.
Our client is a specialist firm of Chartered Town Planners working on a good range of projects for residential and commercial applications plus the management of appeals.
Our client is expanding in London.
You will be either a Town Planner with a relevant Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Planning & Development or similar relevant degree and you must be chartered, MRTPI qualified.
You should have at least three years or more post chartered experience.
You will deal with all aspects of town planning consultancy for many major clients across the South East and South West.
You should be able to manage the company's QA process which ensures that work is done to the highest standard and complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
You will report to the MD and have staff reporting to you.
Experience should include: Developing planning strategies for projects, advising clients prior to acquisition of sites on likely planning and development prospects, advising land and property owners on the development and planning potential of their assets, working with the wider technical consultant team in formulating development proposals to maximise the prospect of securing planning permission or allocations, preparing and coordinating and negotiating planning applications and planning appeals and representations and drafting the necessary documents to support submissions to the LPA, PINS and others.
You will also input into evolving development proposals and masterplans, consultation and community development, enironmental impact assessment input and coordination and any other tasks as required by clients.
You will manage staff including conducting appraisals, managing performance against agreed criteria and providing advice on CPD.
You will also be involved in project management including preparation of fee proposals for agreement, setting up the job on the Company's project management system and prepare an invoicing schedule for the life of the project, set up the Project File and keep up to date, etc.
It is essential that you have excellent communication and client facing skills.
A full UK driving licence and own car is preferred
Salary in the range of £55000 to £60000 for an Associate Planner plus bonus of up to 20% plus benefits.
