Your new company
Your new company is an Architecture, property and construction consultancy that have rich and diverse projects, spanning many different building types and sectors. They have projects both in the UK, as well as internationally. Typically, their projects mainly include the commercial, retail and leisure. However, they also complete residential projects as well as one off private sector jobs. Some of their main clients include Shell and Marks and Spencers. Because they operate internationally, they also have offices in the UK and abroad.
Due to the success in this company over the past year, they are steadily growing and looking for their new addition to join the team as an Architectural Technician.
Your new role
Your new role within this company will involve formulating a brief for clients, as well as communicating with both colleagues and clients effectively. After taking in a brief for clients, you will be completing drawings on Autocad. You will also be required to carry out studies and design proposals for review, and cooperate with other members in the design team, and delegate when necessary.
In your new role you will be working on multiple projects simultaneously, spanning the commercial and retail sectors mainly. Additionally, you will be providing a practical and methodical approach to solving problems, working to fixed budgets and working within deadlines. You will ensure design proposals conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards.
What you'll need to succeed
to succeed in your application and your time in the role, you will need to be fully able to use AutoCAD. It is necessary to be RIBA part 2 qualified with some professional working experience PQE. The ideal candidate will have a driving license, and an ability to do M&E drawings. Additionally, to succeed in this role, a good level of written and spoken English is required as you will be assisting both the team and senior project directors.
The successful candidate will be able to assist senior project directors in designs and management tasks, but will also be able to work independently/part of a team. In addition to this, a successful candidate will have knowledge of UK building regulations, and be able to apply them throughout their work.
The ideal candidate will also need to be an excellent communicator, that can articulate complex issues between the clients and colleagues. You will be ambitious and willing to learn, while demonstrating a high level of diligence and organisation.
