Director of Architecture

A very exciting opening has become available for a Director to join a very prestigious multidisciplinary that are headquartered in Leicester.

You will be joining a dynamic and expanding Architectural team in Derby. Working closely with the senior leadership team, under the direction of the National Director for Architecture, as Director you will be involved in all aspects of managing the discipline and instigating agreed initiatives to achieve the goals and targets to enable sustainable growth and continuous improvement.

With several large scale and high-profile commissions working across a multitude of sectors to include leisure, healthcare, heritage, blue light, mixed used residential and commercial, this role will see you delivering on both management, new opportunities and project delivery.

Key objectives will see you supporting the National Director promoting business wide initiatives, engaging with clients and developing new business opportunities and instilling a passion for high quality.

Responsibilities will include:
- Deliver business forecast performance targets in conjunction with the National Director.
- Represent the business at meetings and deputise for your fellow Directors and National Director where required.
- Contribute to the discipline’s Senior Management Team, working with other senior colleagues to manage and direct the discipline.
- Attend Senior Management Team meetings and share views proactively to support collaborative decision-making.
- Support the National Discipline Director in the delivery of Business Plan objectives.
- Lead and contribute to discipline, business unit and initiatives across the Practice to allow achievement of business plan objectives.
- Manage and maintain business relationships with existing clients and develop other business opportunities as appropriate in accordance with the national strategy.
- Take a lead role in developing and maintaining technical standards nationally and across all disciplines.
- Provide strong leadership to manage and direct allocated teams and ensure work is carried out to the required standard, quality and efficiency.
- Oversee and co-ordinate activities to ensure that workload is properly managed across teams to achieve or exceed utilisation targets.

As a Director of this leading multidisciplinary, you will have equal status to all the existing directors within the Architectural Discipline. There are currently 6 other Directors, leading the 130 strong Architectural team. With hybrid working this will be a balance of home and office.

Technical competencies to include:
- Minimum 10 years post qualification experience
- Relevant qualifications with significant and appropriate skills and experience
- Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans.
- Experience of successfully managing important clients and multiple large complex projects and both individuals and large teams.
- Excellent understanding of architectural design, technical detailing, contract knowledge, innovation and sustainable design solutions.
- Excellent clarity and confidence in communication; writing, drawing, on screen and in person.
- Ability to foresee and provide advice on potential risk issues.
- Display a sense of vision, direction and belief in line with the company vision and objectives.

You will receive an attractive salary which will be a ballpark figure of £70,000 and will be reflective of what skills you can bring to the their team (and level of experince you have gained so far in your career). You will also be entitled to the following benefits:
