We invite applications to join our BA (Hons) Architecture ARB/RIBA Part 1 and Master of Architecture ARB/RIBA Part 2 course teams. We are seeking applicants for a full time position or two part time positions to lead on the ongoing development of our Architectural Technology area, who understands technology in its broadest sense to be integral to the design and making of meaningful buildings and spaces.
Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of architectural technology, including strategic and detail design for structures, construction and environmental control. Experience of contemporary architectural practice is desirable, including the areas of digital manufacture and sustainability.
Teaching experience is essential – the individual will deliver and assess Architectural Technology at various levels – as is the ability to contribute to the support of students’ development of presentation skills. A post-graduate qualification in Architecture is essential. A research degree or evidence of research activity is desirable, as we would look forward to the post holder contributing to our research community.
The post holder will work closely with the Course Leaders and be responsible for managing the effective learning of students and the delivery of high quality provision. The post holder will also be expected to actively engage in student recruitment, course administration and additional duties as required for the successful running of the courses. The post holder will liaise with external consultants to deliver specialist teaching and be involved in live projects for teaching and research.
Applicants will need to have a post graduate qualification in a relevant subject. You will ideally hold a professional architecture qualification and have industry experience as well as ARB Registration. In addition a PGCert qualification and Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellow Membership is highly desirable.
