Client Details

UK leading house builder operating on a regional model. Within the technical team, work is mixture of production in-house and utilising external consultants. This role sits within one of their newest regions, which was a strategic move to ensure measured and sustainable growth, without compromising quality.

Diverse role within the technical team looking at design, planning and architectural technology holistically. Working fluidly across these three areas you will be coordinating information from internal and external stakeholders with the primary objective of receiving necessary approvals and permission to move a scheme forward to start on site, and then provide technical support throughout the build.

Sample responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and co-ordinate the submission of planning applications, applications for advertisement consent and applications for amendments to existing planning permissions as necessary and manage them through the planning process.
  • Negotiate and engage with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders, local authorities, parish councils and other consultees and statutory bodies and interest groups to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Attend Planning Committees, site visits and public consultation events as necessary.
  • Monitor compliance with S106 Planning Obligations and maintain compliance schedules.
  • Assist in coordinating the management and transfer/adoption of public open space.
  • Liaise with the Engineering and Commercial teams to secure cost-effective layouts and design solutions.
  • Produce house type drawings consistent with planning approvals
  • Prepare and obtain relevant approvals for ancillary and associated drawings
  • Ensure that all working drawings comply with Building Regulations and NHBC conditions
  • Coordinate the production of SAP assessments and EPC certificates as required
  • Arrange for air and sound testing in conjunction with site teams as necessary
  • Profile

    You will ideally have a few years' experience working within the residential sector, either directly for a house builder or with a practice specialising in residential design. You will have a broad knowledge of preconstruction processes in order to move a development forward from sketch feasibility through to start on site.

    Competent use of AutoCAD is essential. You will be working with various stakeholders both internal and external and as such clear communication is vital.
