Responsibilities
Manage the configuration, changes and releases for all agreed applications and services
Ensure 2nd and 3rd line support issues are delivered to agreed SLAs and work with the Service Delivery team to agree new SLAs and review impacts on resource levels
Create processes and if possible use software to ensure the configuration and development of solutions is tested and traceable from requirements to specification to build using an agreed standard or management application
Define and manage documented governance procedures to ensure the correct procedures are in place to manage the transition through the application lifecycle
Responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of the application changes to support the Infrastructure business strategy
Ensure processes are implemented to ensure the application strategy and roadmaps are updated when changes are released

Work with other members of the team to agree consistent industry standards and best practice for the applications team
Ensure you understand where the costs are charges for any work we complete and what impact this will have on the departmental budget
Ensure all business and technical decisions taken are commercially aware and support business, Innovation and IT strategies and followed the agreed governance
Ensure you manage resources to deliver to agreed timescales the activity for projects, programmes and contract mobilisations

Take a pragmatic approach to review and manage the changes to ensure best value for the businesses requirements using supporting metrics where possible
Ensure you manage your time and your resources to deliver to agreed timescales for the activity for agreed projects and changes
Ensure you work with your line manager to agree a career path to develop your knowledge and skills to support the business better
Ensure you create and manage the test and release management plan to ensure quality products are delivered to the LIVE environment
Ensure solutions for the operational teams are delivered to an agreed standard with the business and suppliers


Qualifications & Requirements
Essential:

Experience of managing releases or changes for enterprise applications where operational availability is critical
Working in a challenging and complex organisation and demonstrable experience of managing organisational, business and technical change
Support the innovation strategy trasnlating into a deliverble customer focussed commercially aware service
Extensive experience of managing the creation of work packages to ensure the delivery of technical solutions to an agreed standard
Experience delivering releases to an agreed standard using agreed industry methodologies
Proven experience in managing technical teams and senior management to drive and deliver releases for complex technology solutions

Experience of managing internal and external suppliers and monitoring performance through KPIs to ensure specified SLAs are met
Ability to deal with and manage conflict whilst building successful business relationships across a range of stakeholder groups
Management of resolution of technical application issues and problems with suppliers and internal teams
Strong experience of delivering tests and releases for enterprise class systems such as; IFS, SharePoint, Qlikview, Crystal and Web applications

Bachelor's Degree in an Information Systems Field or preferably 5 years plus experience designing and/or delivering solutions
PRINCE 2 Foundation preferably Practitioner
ITIL Foundation


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

Good programme and Excellent project management skills, preferably PRINCE2 Practitioner
Good experience of managing technical teams with large enterprise class systems
Proven experience introducing and improving processes through best practice in an enterprise environment
Experience managing system and functional change to multiple content management, web applications and reporting systems across multiple environments
Strong Commercial Awareness
Excellent understanding of enterprise class systems with spcialisms in content management, web applciations and business information systems
Good creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
Great presentation skills from small to large groups #
