Well known interior architectural design practice seeks a Studio Project Manager to oversee project deliverables, programmes and resources to all studio clients. 

 

Overview

David Collins Studio is a well known interior architectural design practice and our profile has risen steadily in recent years by our association with well known and successful projects with leading international clients.

High level support and to lead on client facing issues that affect the smooth running and deliverables to all studio clients. Our portfolio ranges from high end residential, retail, commercial residential and commercial projects with a varied mix of external project teams, which may include Architects, Quantity Surveyors etc.

KPI for this role:-

1. Over delivery – work with management & finance to reduce current over delivery on stages and projects overall.

2. Resourcing – reviewed monthly to ensure they match deliverables and present solutions to management. To include art workers

3. Additional – to negotiate with clients on a timely basis, with a quick turn-around.

4 Deliverables – to ensure deadlines are met, with deliverables to match brief issued on time and within budget.

5. To deliver a clear operational overview of the business updated on a regular basis.

6. 360 ° overview to reach from creative, to financial, legal and commercial points.

7. Initial audit of current systems and assessment of key risk areas for short term solutions within 0 – 3 months. Current Paprika, MS Project and Excel.

Role and Responsibilities - Key Deliverables

New business – assisting to ensure we are proactively winning new projects that are aligned to the DCS brand, right level of fees and timing.

Additional services raised, negotiated, documented with the client.

Monthly measurement on projects/stages deliverables.

Responsible to ensure projects are well staffed, identifying gaps, moving resources and taking a lead in supporting project leads.

Planning meeting – leading on deliverables, resources, plus educating and mentoring Senior Designers.

Ideas – new ways to improve on how projects at DCS are run.

Deadlines – to ensure all deadlines are met, and overseas trips are factored for.

Finance – to work alongside Iain & James to ensure deliverables match billing, reviewed monthly and address any issues.

Design – to work alongside Simon & Lewis to ensure the design vision and DCS brand is translated upheld in all stages of the design.

Client facing – to assist Simon/Lewis and project leads on key client meetings.

HR – work alongside our office manager to ensure we recruit staff of a suitable calibre, on brand and at the right time to match project deliverables.

Quality control – putting a system in place to drive quality across all projects, responsibilities are across sectors of private residential and commercial; including bar, restaurant, hotel and commercial residential.

Assess current systems, plan and oversee updates and adjustments on time and job cost related reports.

Client feedback at regular intervals.

Reporting to Managing Director and Management Team in a formal monthly report and interim updates.

Team Development

Assist with team development including motivation of teams and training as required.

IS0 9001

The system has been audited for integration into DCS processes; candidate to lead a team and roll out this process.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have experience working closely with designers and preferably have a background in Architecture or Interior Design

10 years+ experience

Experience in high end projects

Project focused

Extremely well organised

Able to multi-task

Able to change priority on a daily basis

Empathetic,

Strong leader with personnel-management experience.

Strong analytical skills, with experience of time management in a creative environment are essential.

Essential Software: Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint

Knowledge

Technical understanding of aspects of architectural design, interior and furniture design

Design trends in the industry

Skills

Listening and interpreting instructions correctly

Able to manage relationships

Qualifications

Degree (ideally in a design discipline)

Experience in managing UK projects is essential.
