Principal Landscape Architect responsible for business development and delivery of project work in Scotland with significant experience in both the energy and highways sectors

  About You Chartered Landscape Architect with a relevant Degree and/or post-graduate Degree in Landscape Architecture.

Significant consultancy experience at a managerial level, across a range of business sectors. Demonstrably good commercial awareness, an appetite for business development, excellent report-writing and client liaison skills.

Extensive experience in landscape and visual impact assessment, particularly in relation to the assessment of energy and highways projects (thorough understanding of DMRB, GLVIA 3rd Edition, landscape policy and best practice from SNH, etc).

Experienced in delivery of public realm and streetscape project.

Outstanding communication skills in order to lead and develop people from a wide range of backgrounds. Skilled moderator for design and consultation workshops.

Experience will include solid commercial responsibility for consultancy projects, managing small teams of professional staff, writing successful proposals for landscape and urban design work.

Strategic thinker with high client management skills and track record in successfully securing new work as well as maintaining existing contracts;

Expert knowledge in landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA). You will also have sound knowledge of the issues surrounding LVIA in one or more of the following areas:

·         Highways (DMRB, Webtag)


·         Energy transmission


·         Renewable Energy Generation including Wind Farms (primarily on shore)


High level expertise in designing quality public spaces and streets.

Experience in landscape design preparation of landscape drawings and specifications.

Experience of project management, including undertaking project reviews/forecasting and issues associated with financial controls.
