The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment, as part of the Robert Gordon University, is a respected international provider of courses including Surveying, Architectural Technology and Architecture as well as Construction Project Management, Property Development and Commercial Practice for the Energy Sectors. A vacancy exists within The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment for a Lecturer to support the Built Environment programme of courses and in particular topics related to the teaching and research of Quantity Surveying topics including estimating, measurement, building technology, contracts and procurement. Having relevant quantity surveying qualifications and practical experience, you may also be required to contribute to the academic team responsible for the delivery of service teaching, the development of modules and actively pursue research in the subject of asset and risk management, or related areas. You will be responsible for the effective operation and development of nominated components within the School's portfolio of courses in the areas noted above.
As a Lecturer you will provide face to face and online delivery and support to
students across a range of disciplines, and assist with project supervision, delivery and assessment. You will also form part of the team involved with the delivery of commercial contracts, the majority of which relate to training.
You will be expected to lead and develop specialisms within the programme and contribute to the School’s liaison with the construction industry and related professions. Through research, you will also build upon our subject areas and assist development of the portfolio, staff expertise and knowledge base.
Whilst the post is advertised as a full-time appointment, applications from those seeking part-time arrangements are welcome and will be considered.
