Doreen Bell, an 89-year-old widow and retired office manager, has had an adventurous and creative life. Born and raised in Dyess, Arkansas, she married a sailor and traveled and lived at many stations for more than 20 years. A lifelong lover of science fiction, needlework, and gardening, Doreen turned to writing when her vision issues forced her to give up her other interests.
